FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Where are Concept Miniatures based?
A: Concept Miniatures are based near York in the UK - we are a small family run business consisting of Sculptor Mark Haywood and his wife. We also employ the services of an additional family member during particularly busy periods.
Q: Are your miniature figures traditionally cast or 3D printed?
A: Our figures are now all 3D printed. 3D printing technology has evolved at a rapid rate over recent years and enables miniature figures to be re produced in very small scales while capturing a very high level of detail. Our miniature figures and terrain are carefully pre processed prior to production to ensure the maximum level of detail is reflected in the final figure.
Q: What scales of figures do you produce?
A: This depends on the figure in question and the size of any terrain feature included with the kit. We generally produce figures from 1-35 scale through to 1-9 scale, although not all scales are included on each figure. If, for example, a kit contains a very large terrain unit, it may not be feasible to produce in a large scale. Our most popular scales are 1-16, 1-24 and more recently 1-9 scales on some figures.
Q: What type of resin do you use for the figures you produce?
A: Our figures are produced using a blend of superior quality resins which captures a high level of detail and ensures the resin is not brittle, a feature that is particularly important with smaller parts that can easily be damaged.
Q: How long are the shipping times for orders?
A: Our figures are made to order. We do not keep a large amount of figures in stock. Small orders such as 1-16 scale figures and busts are generally produced and dispatched within 7 working days. Larger figures such as 1-9 scale figures and large terrain type pieces require longer to produce and post process before they can be prepared for shipping. Please therefore allow an additional 3 working days if ordering large scale figures and terrain items (Trees / buildings etc). As an approximate guideline please see below for timescales for receiving figures:
UK - 7 Working Days / Europe 15 - 18 Working Days
USA and other Destinations - 18 - 21 Working Days...
Singapore - Please allow 28 Working Days
We strive to dispatch all orders as soon as possible and your patience is greatly appreciated.
Q: Do you regularly ship items overseas?
A: Yes. Approximately 55% of our customers place orders from different countries, and this number is growing each month.
Q: I am ordering from another Country and am concerned about customs / import taxes. Will I be notified if I have to pay a customs cost?
A: Each Country has a different criteria for customs duties and the rates they charge. If the order is subject to a customs / import taxation, you will be contacted via email by the shipping company shortly after the order has been dispatched.
Q: Do Concept Miniatures attend many trade shows?
A: We only currently attend two or three shows each year. The vast majority of our customers order online, therefore our priority lays with delivering orders in a timely manner to our existing customers.
Q: I have received my order and there is a part that has been damaged during transit. What should I do?
A: Please send us an email with an image of the damaged part and we will replace this for you as quickly as possible. Please contact us at support@conceptminiatures.co.uk
Q: Many manufacturers are now sending out 3D printed models with the support structures still attached for the customer to remove. Do the support structures require removal on Concept Miniatures figures?
A: No. Support structures are removed prior to shipping. There may be a little clean up required on figures prior to priming, but this will be minimal and should not take longer than a few minutes.
